Every student deserves to eat with dignity. PLATES was founded on a simple belief: no child’s ability to learn should be limited by an unpaid meal balance. We work across Alaska with school districts, families, community partners, and supporters to reduce school meal debt and expand access to healthy, reliable school meals.

Through cross‑sector collaboration and direct funding, PLATES helps districts close meal debt gaps so students can focus on learning—not hunger or stigma. Our mini‑grant program ensures donations reach the schools where the need is greatest, strengthening local nutrition programs and supporting long‑term solutions for meal access.
